What is 0871?

0871 is a "marketing" telephone code which is charged to UK callers at 10p per minute at all times or more on some networks, regardless of where calls are made from.

Why should we use an 0871 number?

There are several benefits to using an 0871 number which include:

1. Sovereign Telecom will make a payment to you, of a minimum of 2p per minute for all calls received in the UK
2. The number is "non-geographic" which means that there is no actual location associated with the number.
3. The number to which calls are delivered can be moved from one location to another without a change in the number that is dialled. This means that a change in office location does not involve a change in telephone number.
4. It is possible to select your 0871 number which means that you may be able to choose a number which customers can easily recognise and remember.
5. Details of all calls made to your number are available to you through your personal log-in at the Customer Service Centre on our website. Here you will see details of all calls, including failed calls - with a reason, showing caller's number, time, date, duration and cost/revenue. This information is updated every working day and there is no charge for this facility
6. Sovereign Telecom will deliver calls made to an 0871 number to many overseas destinations at no cost to you, our customer. Click here for a list of applicable countries.

How do you obtain an 0871 number and what does it cost?

Numbers are connected FREE. Payments are made when the accumulated rebate exceeds £50.00 or monthly when a £5.00 administration fee is charged if the payment is less than £50.00.

How do 0871 numbers work?

Calls made to 0871 numbers have the destination "translated" in the telephone network to an ordinary telephone number where the calls are delivered and answered.
